For most companies, printing is an obvious and visible place to start tracking and lowering expenses. Argos makes it easy to get started with technologies to capture nearly any print job, regardless of how it was made.

Argos Print Tracking for Windows is where most companies start. Simply install the Argos Print Tracking Agent on each of your print servers, and Argos immediately starts tracking every print job that passes through the print server. Argos automatically detects and configures print queues. As you add print queues in the future, Argos continues to automatically track them.

Argos Local Print Tracking places the tracking agent at the desktop. Local tracking is only necessary for printers that are directly connected to workstations, or for direct IP printing scenarios.

Argos OnBoard Print Tracking installs directly onto your compatible MFPs to provide the most accurate possible tracking.

Flexible in the extreme

Regardless of how Argos tracks your printing, you have complete control over how and what gets tracked. Have some printers you want to track silently in the background, while others need the Argos Desktop Billing Client? Want to require your users to provide a comment for some of your high-end printers? Argos organizes your printers into groups so you can set group policies to decide how things are tracked.

Argos automatically extracts dozens of statistics from each print job, including:

• Page width and height
• Number of originals, number of copies, and total number of pages
• Filename
• Username
• Printer name
• Date and time
• Color or black-and-white
• Paper type
• Per-page cost and charge
• Total print job cost and charge
• Per-page and total print job area (square feet or square meters)
