Hosted service lets on-site service providers manage business from anywhere, online

The new service allows providers of on-site services to centrally manage equipment placements across distributed locations. FM Server extends Sepialine’s award-winning Argos software to capture expense data – such as print, copy, scan, fax and more – in multiple locations. Using FM Server and a web browser, customers can view, manage and report equipment tracking information from anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day.

On-site managed services are a growing trend in which a service provider places equipment – such as print, copy and scan hardware and software – into a customer’s office. Instead of buying equipment outright, the customer pays the provider on a “per use” basis, typically monthly. More than a simple lease, a turnkey on-site agreement includes consumables such as paper, ink and toner as well as equipment service and maintenance. Providers of such services, who include copier and printer dealers and reprographers, rely on detailed activity records from each of their locations and equipment placements in order to accurately invoice and derive revenue.

• Built-in reporting lets customers view and share usage reports in a presentation-ready format. A downloadable report designer lets customers customize and modify reports.
