NEW
Almost Full Functionality with the Latest HP Printers
After months of updates in Printerpoint, the 3800 will soon be able to act just like your other HPs.
Once HP releases their next firmware version – which we expect to happen within the next few weeks, if not sooner – you'll be able to automatically receive meters and proactively monitor ink/media and usage on the DesignJet XL 3800, XL X3800, XT950, T950, T850.
Requirements
For full functionality, three things are needed:
Printerpoint Agent 6.3.0 or higher
HP firmware version 6.25.x or higher (not released by HP yet)
Printer’s admin PIN entered in Printerpoint:
Found under Printer Details > Advanced > HP admin password
Admin PIN Info
There’s a very important sticker on the back of your HP with an admin PIN that is needed to access the latest HP printers.
We highly encourage dealers to do one of the following:
Instruct your service techs to add the printer to Printerpoint when they install it, and enter the PIN code into Printerpoint (our personal choice)
Instruct your service techs to write down or take a picture of the PIN code when they install the printer
Instruct your service techs to change the PIN code to a standard password used for all equipment
That sticker on the printer looks like this:

To enter the PIN in Printerpoint, click on the printer > click the pencil icon near Printer Details > click the Advanced tab and enter the PIN in the "HP admin password" field.

New Integration For Environmental Offsets
We’ve teamed up with PrintReleaf, a sustainability solution that gives dealers an easy way to receive certified environmental offsets.
PrintReleaf pulls print data via Printerpoint’s API to calculate paper usage and energy consumption across your small and wide format printers. They take that number and use your PrintReleaf subscription fee to pay for the planting of new trees and to support clean energy programs worldwide.
PrintReleaf provides downloadable certificates (reforestation and carbon offset) that you can show off in your print shops or online.
IMPROVEMENTS
Add Printer Notes to Bills
There’s now a notes field on pending and approved bills. You can use it however you like, but some folks might jot down information relevant to contract and billing terms, to process bills more efficiently.
Show Order Notes in Supply History
Even more notes! There’s also a notes field on supply orders, so you can include information needed when approving an order and it stays on the order history for a particular printer. A list of all the notes related to the order history for that printer live in one place and can be exported to a CSV if needed.
Add Additional Text to “Delete Printer” Dialog
We had a few dealers try to resolve a technical issue with how a printer is reporting information by deleting the printer and adding it again. This erases any historical log information and makes it much harder for us to help them troubleshoot issues. So, we added some additional text that they may or may not read when deleting a printer:
“Are you deleting this printer to try to solve a technical issue (example: Printer is offline, meter read is incorrect, etc)? If so, please contact Printerpoint Support before deleting this printer, so we can help troubleshoot the issue.”This hopefully might reduce the frustration that both the dealers and our support team experience in this situation!
